Hand Therapy with Rachael – Specialist Hand & Wrist Rehabilitation

If pain, stiffness, or injury in your hand or wrist is affecting your everyday life, specialist Hand Therapy can help you regain movement, strength, and confidence in your hands.

Our Hand Therapy service is led by Rachael, an Accredited Hand Therapist (BAHT) and HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience in both the NHS and private practice.

Expert Qualifications

Rachael graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southampton in 2002 and went on to complete an MSc in Health Services Research at the University of Nottingham in 2008. Since 2004, she has specialised in orthopaedic and upper limb rehabilitation, focusing particularly on conditions of the hand and wrist. Following extensive post-graduate training, she became a BAHT-Accredited Hand Therapist in 2014. Alongside her private work, Rachael continues to practise as an Advanced Hand Practitioner within the NHS, ensuring her clinical approach remains current and evidence-based.

A Holistic, Functional Approach

As an Occupational Therapist, Rachael’s approach centres on function and everyday living – helping you return to the activities that matter most. Treatment may include:

  • Splinting or bracing to protect or support healing structures

  • Scar and swelling management

  • Education and practical advice to adapt activities and prevent flare-ups

  • Hands-on mobilisation to improve joint and soft tissue function

  • Trigger finger and tendon pain

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Osteoarthritis and joint stiffness

  • Post-surgical or post-trauma rehabilitation
